55 plain answers about RiftIP — every proxy network, targeting and sessions, billing, security and the API.

Getting started

What RiftIP is, how the trial works and how to send your first request.

RiftIP is a proxy network with six types of IPs — residential, ISP, mobile, datacenter, unlimited residential and IPv6 — behind one gateway, one dashboard and one API. You choose a network and location per request, and switch between them without changing your code.

Every new account gets a 30-day free trial with usage limits shown at sign-up. You can test any network and location against your own targets. If you don't pick a plan before the trial ends, nothing is charged.

For most scraping and monitoring work, start with Residential — it has the widest coverage and passes strict targets. Use Datacenter or IPv6 for speed and volume on open sites, ISP for long logged-in sessions, and Mobile for targets that only trust carrier traffic. The Compare section on our homepage shows how they differ.

Create credentials in the dashboard, then point your HTTP client at the gateway host and port with your username and password. Add the network, country or session options to the username, and every request routes through a matching exit. The dashboard shows a ready-to-copy example for cURL, Python and Node.

No. All six networks use the same gateway endpoint and credential format — you switch network, location or session type by changing a parameter, not your integration.

Collecting publicly available data is lawful in many jurisdictions, but the rules depend on where you operate, what you collect and the target's terms. You're responsible for how you use the Service — our Acceptable Use Policy sets out what is and isn't allowed, and we recommend taking legal advice for your specific use case.

Residential Proxiesfrom $1.20/GB

Household IPs in 195 countries that blend in with everyday traffic.

Residential proxies route your requests through IP addresses that internet providers assign to real homes. To a website, your traffic looks like an ordinary visitor's, which is why residential IPs pass strict targets that block datacenter ranges.

From partners who obtain consent from device owners to share a small part of their bandwidth. We don't use IPs from compromised devices or software that installs without clear consent.

The pool spans 195 countries, with the largest coverage in the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Germany. Availability changes daily as devices come online — the Locations section shows current counts per country.

Sticky sessions hold the same exit for up to 24 hours. If that exit goes offline mid-session, the gateway re-pins your session to a fresh IP in the same city and ISP where possible, so logins and carts carry on.

Per GB of traffic — from $1.20/GB, with lower rates on larger plans. Both request and response bytes count. Unused bandwidth stays available until your plan's expiry date.

ISP Proxiesfrom $0.75/IP

Static, ISP-registered IPs — one stable identity for logins and long sessions.

ISP proxies are hosted in data centers but registered to consumer internet providers, so they're trusted like residential IPs while staying fast and static. Residential IPs rotate through real devices; an ISP IP stays yours for the whole period.

No. Each ISP IP is dedicated to you for 30 days at a time and renews with your plan. If an IP is ever blocked or degraded, you can request a replacement from the dashboard.

No — ISP IPs are dedicated to your account for as long as you hold them.

ISP proxies are available in our major markets, including the US, UK, Germany and other European locations. The dashboard shows live stock by country before you buy.

Per IP per month, from $0.75/IP, with unmetered bandwidth on most plans.

Mobile Proxiesfrom $3.00/GB

Real 4G and 5G carrier IPs for targets that only trust mobile traffic.

Mobile carriers place thousands of real users behind each IP (carrier-grade NAT), so websites are very reluctant to block them. That makes mobile IPs the most trusted option for strict targets, app APIs and social platforms.

Yes. Alongside country and city, you can target major carriers in supported markets by adding the carrier to your credentials.

Sticky mobile sessions hold for up to 30 minutes. Carriers reassign IPs on their own schedule, so mobile exits naturally rotate more often than other networks.

Slightly. Carrier networks add latency compared with fixed lines — expect a median response time around a second. You trade some speed for the highest trust.

Per GB of traffic, from $3.00/GB.

Datacenter Proxiesfrom $0.25/IP

Raw speed and throughput for bulk jobs on open targets.

When speed and cost matter more than looking like a home user — bulk collection from open sites, monitoring your own infrastructure, or testing. They're the fastest and most economical network, but strict targets flag datacenter ranges first.

Our datacenter exits sit on 10 Gbps uplinks with a median response time around 0.18 seconds, and the lowest jitter of any network.

Yes. Datacenter plans give you dedicated static IPs from our own ranges — the same IP for every request until you swap it.

Datacenter plans are billed per IP with unmetered bandwidth, subject to fair use and our Acceptable Use Policy.

Per IP per month, from $0.25/IP, with discounts for larger blocks.

Unlimited Residentialfrom $12/day

A flat daily price for residential traffic — no per-GB metering.

Instead of paying per GB, you pay a flat daily price for unmetered traffic through a dedicated slice of our residential network. It's built for steady, high-volume workloads where per-GB billing would add up.

Bandwidth is unmetered. Plans are sized by concurrent threads rather than traffic, so the plan you choose sets how many requests can run at once.

If you consistently move large volumes — typically several hundred GB a month or more — the flat price usually works out cheaper. For bursty or smaller workloads, per-GB Residential is more economical.

Yes. Sticky sessions of up to 24 hours and country-level targeting work the same way as on Residential.

Per day, from $12/day, for as many days as you need.

IPv6 Proxiesfrom $0.30/GB

Vast address ranges for high-concurrency jobs on IPv6-ready targets.

IPv6 gives you an effectively endless supply of fresh addresses, which suits high-concurrency jobs and workloads that rotate on every request. It works on targets that accept IPv6 connections — which now includes most large platforms.

No. The target has to support IPv6. If it doesn't, use Residential, ISP or Datacenter instead — all on the same gateway, so switching is a parameter change.

By default, yes — IPv6 is built to rotate constantly. You can also hold an address with a session ID when a flow needs it.

Per GB of traffic, from $0.30/GB.

Targeting & sessions

Choosing locations, rotating IPs and keeping sessions stable.

Yes. Add the location to your username and requests exit there. Residential, mobile and unlimited plans support country, region and city targeting across 195 countries; static networks target by country.

Rotating sessions use a new IP for every request — best for bulk collection. Sticky sessions keep the same IP for a set time, so multi-step flows such as logins and checkouts see one consistent visitor.

Up to 24 hours on Residential and Unlimited Residential, up to 30 minutes on Mobile, and permanently on ISP and Datacenter, whose IPs don't change.

The gateway quietly re-pins your session to a fresh exit — in the same city and ISP where possible — and the flow continues. Your cookies and logins carry over because the session ID stays the same.

Each request is scored on latency and trust, then routed through the fastest healthy exit that matches your targeting. Exits that start failing are taken out of rotation automatically.

Billing & plans

Payments, renewals, refunds and custom pricing.

It depends on the network: Residential, Mobile and IPv6 are billed per GB, ISP and Datacenter per IP, and Unlimited Residential per day. You can see live usage and spend in the dashboard at any time.

Major credit and debit cards. Larger plans can also pay by invoice and bank transfer — contact sales to set that up.

Yes. Subscriptions renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel, which you can do at any time from the dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.

Because every account starts with a free trial, paid plans are generally non-refundable — but we do refund first purchases within 7 days if you've used less than 10% of the plan, as well as billing errors. The full rules are in our Refund Policy.

Yes. If you need large volumes, a mix of networks or invoiced billing, our sales team will put together a custom plan — get in touch through the contact page.

Account & security

Credentials, sub-users, privacy and what we log.

No. Request and response payloads are never stored, and connection metadata is deleted automatically after 24 hours. We keep only aggregate usage totals for billing.

Yes. Add your server IPs to the allow-list in the dashboard and connect without a username and password from those addresses.

Yes. Create sub-users with their own credentials, traffic limits and usage reports, so you can split access by team, project or client — and revoke it without affecting anyone else.

Rotate them from the dashboard straight away — old credentials stop working immediately — and let our support team know so we can help check recent usage.

For some plans, networks or targets we may ask you to verify your identity or intended use. It protects the network and the people whose devices it runs on.

API & integrations

Protocols, tools and automating your account through the API.

Every network supports HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 through the same gateway.

Anything that speaks proxies: cURL, Python (requests, httpx, Scrapy), Node (axios, got), headless browsers such as Playwright and Puppeteer, and most scraping frameworks and anti-detect browsers.

Yes. The dashboard API lets you create credentials and sub-users, buy and renew plans, list IPs and pull usage reports — everything you can do in the dashboard, from code.

There's no fixed cap on requests per second through the gateway; your plan sets concurrency. The account API has its own fair-use limits, documented in the API reference.

Yes. Usage is available per plan, sub-user and day through the API, so you can feed it into your own dashboards or billing.
