Acceptable Use Policy

What RiftIP is built for, what it can't be used for, and how we handle abuse.

RiftIP is built for legitimate work on the public web. This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what that includes and what it doesn't. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone using the Service, including sub-users and customers of resellers.

01What RiftIP is built for

  • Collecting publicly available web data, such as product listings and prices.
  • SEO and search monitoring from local vantage points.
  • Ad verification and brand protection.
  • Market research and competitive analysis.
  • Testing how websites and apps behave in different regions and networks.

02What you can't use it for

  • Anything illegal, or helping others break the law.
  • Fraud and account abuse — credential stuffing, account takeover, carding, creating fake accounts at scale, or abusing promotions.
  • Accessing systems without permission, including hacking, vulnerability scanning you're not authorised to perform, or distributing malware.
  • Denial-of-service attacks or sending traffic intended to disrupt a service.
  • Spam, phishing or other unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Harassment, stalking, doxxing, or collecting sensitive personal data unlawfully.
  • Distributing content that infringes intellectual property rights, or that sexually exploits minors.
  • Evading sanctions, export controls or geographic legal restrictions.

03Protecting the network

  • Don't share or resell access, except through our reseller program.
  • Don't try to bypass plan limits, rate limits or targeting restrictions.
  • Don't attempt to identify, contact or interfere with the devices or people behind exit IPs.
  • Don't probe, scan or test the RiftIP network itself without our written permission.

We may restrict access to some categories of targets — for example government systems or financial institutions — or require verification before enabling them.

04How we detect abuse

We don't inspect the content of your traffic. We rely on aggregate signals such as request rates, target patterns and error rates, together with reports from third parties, to spot abuse. We may ask you to explain or verify your use at any time.

05Enforcement

Depending on how serious a violation is, we may warn you, limit or throttle your access, block specific targets, suspend your account, or terminate it without a refund. Where the law requires, or where there's a risk of harm, we may report activity to the relevant authorities.

06Reporting abuse

If you believe traffic from our network is abusing your systems, email support@riftip.com with the IP addresses, timestamps (with time zone) and the affected URLs or services. We review every report and act on confirmed abuse promptly.
